Using Netscape Messenger

When you first start the Messenger program, you will be prompted for the necessary information in order to send & receive mail. However, if this is not the first
time you've started Messenger, use the steps supplied below.

Click on the 'Edit' Menu bar selection.
Click on 'Preferences'.

You will then be prompted with a dialog box with all of the Netscape Communicator Preferences.
Under 'Mail & Newsgroups', click on Identity.

Fill in your full name & email address.

Now click on 'Mail Servers'.
Fill in your Outgoing mail (SMTP) server name
[ Your Domain Name ]).

This information is listed in the initial email sent to you by our Web Hosting Service.
If you no longer have your initial email,
the server name is in the format of domain.com
Enter your full email address in 'Outgoing mail server user name'.

Then click on 'Add'.
A new dialog box will appear labeled 'Mail Server Properties.
Enter your Incoming (POP3) server name
([ Your Domain Name ]) in the box labeled 'Server Name'.
Once again, this information is in your initial email, however most likely has the format of domain.com.
Choose 'POP3 Server' from the select box labeled 'Server Type'.

Enter your full email address in the box labeled 'User Name'.
For example, if your email address is joe@joe.com, then enter joe@joe.com in the User Name box.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR Netscape Messenger Users!
Some Netscape programs have problems with an @ symbol in the username.
If you cannot log in & continually are prompted for user name & password,
Try replacing the @ with a %.
For example:
joe%joe.com, as opposed to joe@joe.com.

Make sure the 'Remember Password' box is checked.
Click 'OK'.

You will now see your account ([ Your Domain Name ]) listed in the list of Incoming Mail Servers.
Click 'OK' again.

That's it!
Whenever you want to receive your messages, click 'Get Msg'.
